Limousin Cottage Holidays

 

L'Etoile de Mer (The Starfish) is a little village house situated in the small town of Magnac Laval, around half an hour's drive from Limoges, in the Limousin region of France.  It's a 30 second stroll away from a Boulangerie and a Tabac and yet offers peace and quiet - watch the swallows and the bats from the window - and country walks practically from the doorstep.

  

 

 Etoile de Mer is a one bedroomed house sleeping two to four people situated  near to the 13th Century church.  You won't need a watch - just glance at the church clock! 

 

 The house itself is in the old historic part of town, in a very quiet street, but with all facilities on hand such as bakers, cafes, bars, bank, post office and supermarket.  Magnac Laval is described as a town, but 
it's a very villagy place.  There are some excellent local restaurants serving local produce including world-famous Limousin beef, including L'Escapade in the main square which as well as food holds regular events and music nights.  If pizza is your thing, wood-fired pizzas are available at weekends from the local boulangerie, and the pizza van visits regularly.  There are several more restaurants catering for all tastes within 10 minutes' drive away, including creperies, fine dining and simple traditional eateries service good value fixed price menus.

  

The best thing is, staying at Etoile de Mer needn't break the bank.  Rental is very reasonable - with real bargains to be had outside of the peak season.
